Hi All,
Can you suggest, for the Senior Software Engineer role, which of Facebook/Uber/Slack is a better choice? Comp wise, not a huge difference, though Slack is a bit generous in equity(which is not IPO like Uber).
Also if you can share some insights for the following points for comparison, will be helpful:
1) Culture
2) technical learning
3) career growth
4) stock (Uber vs Slack when goes IPO vs FB)
5) WLB
Please share the good and the bad. I can share TC for all 3, once I finalize one. Approx Range for TC 300-360K
Role: Sr. Software engineer
YOE: 8+ Years

Both Uber and slack stock is paper now. If you leave before ipo it will remain paper.
E5+ is almost 50% of workforce. If half of the people around you are “senior”... isn’t it just a feel-good ego-stroking label that devalues the word “senior”?
If you want to feel senior, glhf. The company knows that most ppl will never reach e6+, that’s why once you hit e5 you can stay at that level forever. And be called senior. So you don’t leave.
And I don’t need to stack rank anyone. Hidden levels already do that.
Both Uber and FB are good options though (don’t join slack)
