What are your experiences with people faking their resumes when coming through a staffing agency? Recently found out from someone that he and his spouse added 7 years of experience and omitted his master's degree to get placed. Now 9 years later he is still at that company waiting for a green card. I am appalled by the unfairness of this for everyone waiting in line. Is this common? How are these people not caught and fired?
How did it help to omit a masters?
Is this why whenever I’ve interviewed candidates by staffing agencies which seemed qualified on paper, they fail miserably in interviews?? #THEYSGOTSTOGO!
Umm.. I fail miserably nonetheless
It's because of people like these that the genuine applications suffer 😕
I don't really care how many years of experience are there on a resume, I care what a person can actually do and how to figure it out during an interview. The employers who don't prepare and hire unqualified people and don't let them go, are shooting themselves in a leg.
Is it fair to say that Indian staffing agencies are largely dubious and candidates from them should be carefully vetted?
I did a BSCS degree from a top school in the US. During senior year, I was consistently harassed over the phone by recruiters by some of these companies. Some of them did mention that they do the fake resume stuff. This was a while ago so idk what they do these days.
All these agencies are getting fucked
What’s the pay difference for employees hired via these programs vs us based hire
These programs? What do you mean?
Average offered pay for employees hired via H1B recruiter (aka THESE PROGRAMS, lol) vs US citizen direct hire. I want to know if H1B candidates are being low balled or if they are being extended offers the same as US citizens.
About 20-30K
My friend tried to get placed by an agency, but he ended up quitting when they tried to embellish his resume and add fake experiences. It works for the most part because enough people are in on it and will help the new employees onboard and get up to speed. I don’t know about the green card implications though.
