Looking to Hyundai SUVs, most notably the Santa Fe Sport. Any experience with this car? Any other SUV recommendations?
SUVs are dangerous vehicles due to high risk of rollovers. Swallow your pride and get a minivan instead. The sliding door alone makes it a perfect family car in my opinion.
Most “SUVs,” including the Santa Fe Sport OP mentions, are crossovers, meaning they are unibody platforms instead of body on frame like traditional SUVs. They have a lower center of gravity because they are lower to the ground, basically sitting on the same car chassis as sedan models from the same manufacturer and are about as prone to rollover as a minivan is.
Not buying it. Ford Escape also utilizes a unibody platform but very prone to rollovers. http://www.automotivedefects.com/rollover-vehicles/ford-escape/
Personal choice and experience Infiniti qx60, if you are not too bothered by high fuel cost. Spacious, beautiful, powerful and comfortable. Oh but by space I meant 3 row cross over for a family of 5 and at times needing to sit up to 7 people.
I do agree that Hyundai has pretty good bang for the buck
My manager got a Subaru ascent, likes it
Toyota Highlander. Great Toyota reliability but it shows in the sticker price.
Dude, need way more details. How often/long will you drive it for, How many people...
Mazda CX5 with the GT trim. Luxury level features for Japanese price. Great second car if you already have a luxury vehicle and want something relatively stress free.
All cars these days are good and reliable. There really is so such thing as a "bad" car per se, it just comes down to preference and what features you value more. I would recommend test driving your top 3-5 choices then deciding. I agree with the other comment that if would help if you could provide a bit more details on what your needs are.
I agree with this statement and usually focus on the payment and features of the car instead of brand. If you want to buy instead of lease, I would recommend to include brand depreciation rate into the equation too. Based on my experience Honda has the least depreciation rate.
Hondas don't lease that well though. They're usually better to buy.
The Hyundai lineup has pretty good bang for the buck.
