What works best for losing weight ? I feel I eat more when I goto gym and end up gaining. On the other hand I see lots of folks showing good results with intermittent fasting as well as full day fasting or one meal a day.

What’s your observation

    Healthy diet + gym.
Never fast, the results will be disappointing and there will be side effects.

Keto+Intermittent Fasting. I don't know about your Gym but I was strength training with this and maxed 350lbs squat before I gave up.
Do strength in the morning. Just BCAA before with IF. My first meal would be typically at 4pm and last would be 9pm. Lost 24lbs in four months. All fat not muscle mass.
To get into ketosis do HIIT for one week and you should strictly restrict carbs.

TL:DR abs are made in kitchen.

I know several folks with positive, sustainable results from intermittent fasting. If I had more discipline I would do it.

Both fasting and gym. Always go to gym fasted (e.g. I go in the morning after 12-14 hour fast), and don't eat two hours after gym. In gym focus on strength and interval.

When you eat, zero sugar and minimize carbs.

It doesn’t have to be fasting or the gym. If you’ve got visible bulge to lose, it’s about disciplined calorie restriction while also moving around continuously. That combination can easily burn off fat, but only until you get to the last 10% of your ideal weight. That last 10% is when you have to bust your ass in the gym. Until then, just stay out of the gym: control your intake rigorously, but walk a lot to keep your mind off eating and to help keep your calories burning.

Diet is more important to weight loss but fasting is not the way to do it. Fasting puts your body into starvation and slows your metabolism down. A healthy regular diet will help you lose weight much faster. The gym shouldn't be a chore though it should be fun and is good for overall health so as many say. Both.

Fasting actually switches your body from using Carb as source to fat. The metabolism also slows down during any rest and doesn't depend on the macro. But you can increase the need for metabolism by pumping up the requirement for energy.

Also when said fasting it's not that dumb fasting. You take electrolytes, vitamins and whatever you want. But you have your most calories within a specific window.

Don't what you're saying but I was under the notion that carb is all life primarily as I was a cyclist.
Not a big guy for sure, 6'3 and 190lbs count as moderate. Aging with 15%-18% body fat and least is 11% I have been.

I do intermittent Fasting (16-18 hours) as well as go to the gym. The combo works well for me and is effortless

Does that 16 to 18 hours include time asleep?

Replace 80% of the carbs you eat with vegetables coupled with the gym. that should do it.

Can't speak to fasting, but lower intake of carbs, control calorie count and take up running....

Carbs aren't truly essential, unlike proteins and fats. It's much healthier to keep carbs to minimum.

Not really. I'm in splurge mode now but sustained Keto for seven months. It's actually the sugar's and texture of food is what makes you to get back when you indulge 'cheat meals'. Other than that Keto was God send for some reasons. I found my brain was lot sharper on Keto but you should be aware that it needs planning and self control to be on Keto.

A lot of people have said it but: Small portions, fasting, and staying active in anyway (cardio, slack line, dancing)

      TIL what slackline is....

Slacklining refers to the act of walking or balancing along a suspended length of flat webbing that is tensioned between two anchors. ... Slacklines are tensioned significantly less than tightropes or tightwires in order to create a dynamic line which will stretch and bounce like a long and narrow trampoline

Eating tiny portions frequently helps. Do both weights and cardio. Not just cardio. Say bye to sugar.

Whatever you do regularly. Fasting is not a good long term strategy since it's unlikely your body will get used to that.
