Considering a role at Uber. Is it a good move to switch from fb to Uber? I'm not sure if it's worth moving. Currently I am very satisfied with fb, stock seems to be growing really well and I am working on interesting stuff.
Maybe if you value the RSUs from uber at 1/3 their stated value and you still come out ahead. I wouldn’t do that jump otherwise.
No it's low at 1/3. Also yearly bonus and stock refreshers at Uber are very less compared to fb.
If you stick to one company and rise through the ladder won't you make more money? Unless you think Uber is the next Facebook/Google, why change?
I think the chance of disappointment is high. Uber is still trying to improve its culture; that means they are still not there yet. If you feel adventurous, I think having Uber on your resume should be fine. If you go for money or a better work environment, I think it will not work out.
Why in the fuck are you even considering leaving FB for uber?
Pm me and I can give you real insight in comp, not some bs from people that don't work here
PMed
Honestly your attitude probably makes you someone who belongs with uber, but i will say that people who come from FB have left
Y so? I am not money minded. I would like to start my own company some day and for that I am saving all I can. I work with all my heart and have been a top performer consistently at fb.
If you’re really a top performer then you have been compensated enough to not even think of leaving for a pre IPO rocket ship
Joined Uber from FB. FB stock has already gained 60% more since I left while Uber stay steady and there is no hope of seeing my $$$ in foreseeable future. If you want to take risk, sell FB and buy riskier index funds.
Don’t move then - what’s the point of changing something that’s great?
I've never been part of an ipo. Uber's ipo prospects seem exciting. Might as well make little more money.. 💰
At best a “little” more. At this stage I don’t believe the equity compensation will differ between fb and uber even if uber goes public.
