Fb, Amazon, Google, or stick with Uber

Currently at Uber, looking to move out but wondering if it's worth a pay cut. Current TC is: 190k base, 800k (4 years half vested) and negligible bonuses due to politics and no manager sticking around. 4 yoe, L4 at Uber. Fb is offering: 160k/300k (4 years) and probably can negotiate a 100k sign on. Amazon and Google keep trying to undercut on TC. And I'm not super excited by the teams either. Currently E4, tried to convince FB to uplevel me to E5 but the recruiter said better to come in at E4 and get promoted in a year. What do people think?

Don't ever believe what recruiters say. It's all false promises. Promotion ain't gonna happen in an year

Don’t ever believe a salesman. They are born to lie.

You should not leave for a lower base unless the stock is a lot better offer.

Uber Felicia' Jun 15, 2018

FB really shouldn't be asking you to take a pay cut on base. The recruiter is lying. Don't listen to that garbage.

Stock 800k yearly? Seems like a lot

Over 4 years

How do you give it that number (ie is that just as of last valuation?)

Facebook huh??? Jun 15, 2018

Yoe? Are you 5a at Uber? Looks like you didn't do well in the design round and down leveled to E4. That's the max you can get for E4.

Uber tJBp60 OP Jun 16, 2018

Nope I'm a 4 at Uber

Facebook huh??? Jun 16, 2018

I had almost the same TC offer for 5b at Uber before (slightly more base a more RSU). That's very high TC for 4 at Uber.

definitely join Google, even if the pay is lower.

Uber ftds56 Jun 15, 2018

800k worth of rsu is really good. How did you manage to get that at e4 level?

Facebook mpkfa Jun 15, 2018

190 for E4 is extremely rare

What level are you at Uber? What levels are Google and Amazon offering you?
