Fb e5 to Amazon l6 engineer
I am a facebook e5 engineer with 5 yoe. I want to apply for Amazon. Do I have a shot at being considered for l6 engineer?

Probably not. i've only seen L6 at 5 yoe from internal promo

You’re coming back? Was the grass actually greener on the other side when you left? Anywho L6 can be achieved with about 5 years of experience but L5 is terminal. L7 is principal and would be more like 8-10 years experience at least. Speaking as if you joined Amazon straight from undergrad.

Not related directly, but would like to know why you cannot internally transfer to fb India rather than moving to Amazon or another company.

Amazon l6 bar is lower compared to few years back so Facebook e5 to Amazon l6 should be possible.
L6 at Amazon is L5 for others. Do you mean L7/Principal?
Is it? I used to work at amzn. Back then l6 was a big deal. Amzn never considered ppl with less than 10yrs exp
For some reason Amazon doesn’t have many senior engineers, but L6 is still the same as E5
