How is the interview kickstart course of System Design? How are their Mock Interviews ? Please suggest. Also, any recommendation on good course/book/website for preparing system design interview? Thanks
Talked to the guy on the phone, could barely make out what he was saying due to heavy accent, passed.
ha ha, expensive mistake. Made my salary 2.5x this year thanks to IK.
Oracle, you sound like someone who will remain at Oracle for a while. Everyone except Oracle will probably pass on you. I can confirm Google above. I doubled my TC as well. Best decision of my life.
The system design course is not that good at IK. Coming from a totally different background, I found that I lacked even the ideas for talking about scalable system. And I don't believe this can be done in few classes. But if you are already conversant on this topic, I think you can level up your skills.
Thanks. I agree system design could not be taught in few classes. What topics exactly they covered in System Design course ? And how was the mock interview?
I loved their Design curriculum. I had a tad bit of background, so it felt perfectly relevant. I could clear my G interview only because of the sensibilities they gave me.
Waste of time. I did it, PM if you'd like.
Did you at least get your money back?
From your other comments in this thread it looks like you were looking at this course to give you some new problems. I think that he was very upfront that that is not what this course is about, because interviews are not about which problems. For me, the course was about getting into the minds of the interviewers and realise what I was doing wrong, even tho I had done so many leetcode problems before. Btw, leetcode is a good list of problems but it has many many holes in it. This course brought the whole thing together for me. My 3c.
For me IK was very helpful. The system design part gave me a enough foundation so that I could continue to study by myself. You can decide for yourself what you want to do in the mock interviews, e.g. do 10 System Design rounds. Got L5 offers from Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, and a few startups.
Hey, how many years of experience do you have? You minding pinging me? Got some doubts and can make use of your guidance.
Am sorry, I am out of private chats for this month.
Best decision of my life to do it. 2xed my comp. I had done a lot of leetcode but couldn't pass interviews. This course showed me why. Made lifelong friends and learnt from some great teachers.
Which company did you end up at?
In transition to big G. Starting next year in Google Home as backend engineer. Just their negotiations advice helped bumped my comp by 45k.
Do they go over behavioral part? How many mock interviews do they offer?
Useless. You play interviewers in interviews, not interviews themselves
Thanks. Had you done this course?
