Been on the job market for a little while now. While I was being picky at first, actually had a few solid chances. Final rounds with dropbox, Apple (twice), Twitter, fb. Phone interviews with Amazon and google and a few others. Wasnt able to get an offer. My experiences have been in supply chain, project management sales operations and planning. While there are opportunities, there aren't a ton of openings for these roles. Lots of changes in my company which has been quite stressful too. I haven't gotten as many interviews than I did back in January. Just wondering if you all are seeing the market soften a bit. Also any advice always welcomed. Thanks all
You should check microsoft mcio roles for help with supply chain. We need all the help we can get
Try retailers and electronics companies - they both need lots of help with supply chains
Hey - I’m in the same boat as you. At first kind of passively looking for a new role and now very actively. Getting plenty of early round interviews and a few final rounds (Amazon, Facebook, WeWork etc) but no offers. The process feels never ending, but just one foot in front of the other, try to have a couple irons in the fire. I’m starting to also realize the Importance of being referred or knowing the hiring manager. People are very willing to connect with you and even refer you to a company after only meeting once I’ve found. For example, a work friend’s husband worked at the company in interviewing with and he did a prep call for me then offered to formally refer me
Yes because they get money if you get hired life $5000 for fb
Thanks all. I wouldn't mind trying other industries. Consumer products are kind of a up and down industry. When it doesn't do well, it kind of snowballs for them... I can look at referrals but I don't have that many close friends in places to get referrals from
Find people doing the job you want. Hit them up graciously on LinkedIn. Eventually some good soul will cut you a break. Did this twice and worked well.
It's a matter of when not if. Job hunting is a battle of attrition
