As a coder and individual contributor, I know such opportunities are hard to come by, just wanted to know if someone is living it currently.

Travel around the world, hah. Delays, airport after airport, running from place to place, cramped economy seating on planes. Business travel sucks until high Corp levels, but sure it’s ‘interesting’ the first few months. “There is no glamour in travel”
This 100%. I've been doing it for years and it's nothing but devastating to spend long hours on a plane every so often, live out of a suitcase, don't get to see your loved ones and really the only thing people see is: wow you have x miles and this status 😏
+1 my fellow Daimler dude (or dudette). Gets old real fast.
I have done that few years ago as a consultant and decided to come back to regular desk job after almost an year. That's why I don't want to change roles to make it easy to boomerang.
If you're a Maximo consultant for my company I'm pretty sure you get to live that life. I'm on the mobile team though so have only had to travel to a client or meeting occasionally (which is preferred for me)
I’ve travelled every single month for the last 7-8 years now. All I can say is that it was amazing for a while and still has some great moments. But I’d be happy to be at a desk job now and spend more time with the family.
Join palantir. 50 percent travel and coding. Shit pay and you're joining evil Corp.

Get out of coding and into PgM or TPgM and it’s easy to find. Less money though.
Not necessarily less many. Depends on the company.
