I shared my thoughts to purchased a used Ferrari under $100k. Someone mentioned I may spend all of my money on maintenance. I did some research to see how expensive to maintain a Ferrari. Here is what I found:
- insurance: $2k
- warranty: $5k
- regular service: $3k
Total is $10k per year. still expensive, but not too bad, right?
A lot of owners have different opinions on the warranty. Some would like to spare these money for possible expansive repairs like transmission failures, it is a gamble. But for the first timer, I would like to buy the peace of mind.
- Wayfair thehackerIf you’re buying a Ferrari, you should be rich enough that you don’t care about the maintenance lol
- Which Ferrari ? How old is the car / year / miles ?
Warranty will depend on that
- Fiat Chrysler xcleetMy 13 A4 probably costs more in maintenance. Try buying Ferrari brakes, see how much they costs. You can easily look for wheel and tire assembly. I'm sure it will be astronomical. I can tell you Audi charges 700$ to replace a single rotor and brake pad, that's ~3k for all 4. You'll definitely need these things when buying a used car.
You still haven't mentioned the miles.
- Insurance seems fkin low. Something is wrong. I pay 3k+ for a 911.
Also I think Ferrari not a very prudent idea if net worth under 10 mil. You very well might be, just saying there are always surprises. Those amounts must be expendable.
