Vanguard for sure. Lower expenses overall, pioneer of index funds and most importantly structured as a shareholder owned company, so no incentive to increase profits. Fido is a for profit company. Nothing wrong with that, but their over riding incentive is to maximize profits by charging investors. They spend on advertising and fancy offices; if you’re willing to do some of your own work Vanguard is a better option.

+1 if vanguard becomes a monopoly, fun times for all. If fidelity becomes a monopoly, will be bad

If you trade heavily, Fidelity might be better as Vanguard does not really support active traders well. I have heard Etrade is good for active traders . Anyone here has had any experience ?

+1 on this. Zero wait times and they will happily answer all of your dumb questions.

Vanguard is a piece of sh** company with crap software and apps and pyramid scheme model, transferring money between vanguard accts cost money because some vanguard accounts run under a diff company just using the parent name vanguard, so it's like xferring money from another institution, and they charge fees. Fidelity has no fees, free commissions on trade, great website and app, and if you go into their office, someone's always available to talk to you, and guide you so well on everything. I <3 fidelity. I really hate it when I join a company that uses vanguard, such a crap

What are you talking about? How is it a pyramid scheme?

Amazon zVjh74 Dec 7, 2019

Sure bro, one of the largest and most respected fund companies in the world, that’s run for the benefit of its customers with no profit motive is a “pyramid scheme”. Drink some more of that Fido kool aid.

Fidelity for the low fee and the amazing app. Vanguard app is just terrible. I use Fidelity Go and Vanguard mutual funds. Best of both worlds.

Vanguard for sure
