So, I'm currently in a finance rotation program and I've really been debating applying for analyst positions at IBs. What do you all think about this choice? On Blind it seems like finance positions at tech companies are more sought after than working as a traditional analyst and taking the analyst -> MBA -> Associate route. I know the hours will be longer and the pay might be lower, but I just think I'll be able to build a stronger foundation at these roles. Is this logic incorrect? Would it be better to work at a tech company learn some coding on the side and try to get into Fintech/Crypto?
I would stay in the rotation program — you will learn more. Better quality of life — and if you decide to apply to MBA programs later schools prefer more rounded candidates
This is definitely not true. Bulge bracket banking places much better into top MBA programs than Microsoft finance rotational program.
Agreed, schools love IB grads
I went from fin tech at Envestnet to middle market M&A. Breaking into IB is hard; burden on you to network like crazy and study hard because you are already an atypical candidate for IB analyst. Probably best to just reset with an MBA to be honest...get into top 15 mba program and intern at a bulge bracket if you are serious about IB

What is the appeal to NVIDIA?
Tech jobs are more desirable than investment banking sure, but investment banking, particularly early in your career, is far more desirable then finance tech jobs. If your goal is to be in finance long term, investment banking to start out your career is definitely the way to go. Also, to get associate these days there is no MBA requirement, you can be promoted directly from analyst.
