    Not true, you can leave as long as you were at current employee for 6 months AFTER you submitted your GC application. It's called the portability rule, look it up and convince yourself

      This says pending 180 days not for approval as i understand

      “For you to change the offer of employment or employer, your Form I-485 must have been pending with USCIS for 180 days or more.”

      For approval you can request for a same priority date + similar work + the i140 should be revoked by the prev company for the transfer to be successful before the 180 day rule. After 180 you can definitely change - please correct me if i am wrong

      Right, after you submitted your 485 application and if it's pending for more than 180 days, meaning it has not been approved, then you can switch job (given that the new job is very similar to your old job)

      Ok, so this rule does not apply to op since his/her application has been approved, and has GC in hand. Am I correct?

      +1 walkRandom. OP will need to wait 6 months or hope for same job + company not revoking to keep his GC - from what i understand.

      GC in hand for 6m + will help him maintain his priority date.

      @spikiera right?

      But his 485 case was probably pending for 6 months prior to getting the GC approval.

      Honestly the best way to go about this, is to consult with immigration attorneys and not keyboard warriors on blind (me being one of the warriors)

    Talk to a lawyer! Blind is not reliable for law, tax, health or (honestly) any advice.
