I finished my undergrad and recently got an offer for UX research in GE @Chicago for 82/yr. Am I getting lowballed?
This seems pretty fair to me. I was offered $98K/year with a Masters and 3 years of experience in Chicago.
Quite good
Pretty good for new grad. After 2-3yrs of industry exp, your next offer will take you to the 100k+ range.

No. You’re a new graduate without any real-world experience in a field that really requires a ton of real-world experience to be any good. $82k is more than fair, I know people with much more experience who barely get paid that.
I see. Thanks for the insight.
If you’re smart you’ll work your ass off to earn every cent of that $82k instead of wondering if you got low-balled as a recent graduate with fuck-all experience. Watch out for people like me: there are many of us who enjoy terrorizing entitled new graduates and couldn’t give less of a shit if you quit, complain, lose sleep, get sick from stress, etc :-)
