I am in conversation with fitbit for a position based out of Bay Area. For Sr or Staff level what compensation can i expect? How much base? How much bonus? How much RSU’s? Joining bonus? Any other compensation?
I think the biggest downside is that the company is in serious trouble. Seen their stock price lately? They are in a bad, bad market position. It's hard to see if there's really any way to resuscitate themselves at this point even with the best possible management, and Fitbit's management is far from the best possible.
any possibility of management change or buy out. why is your ceo clinging to his position when he can't turn around the company for 4 years. What's wrong in bringing someone seasoned professional?
Stock voting rights are setup so that the two founders cannot be out voted, and I don't see them letting go. They're well intended. I don't know that anyone could fix Fitbit at this point.
Yeah figured they can't be outed forcibly but thought the guys seem decent folks and thought why can't they voluntarily relinquish their position and bring some one visionary. Anyhow I am super pissed after recent quarter as I am vested so much in this company. I drank the cool aid and believed their turn around story and invested 80% of my life savings. well, punishment for not diversifying and falling in to value trap.
Well that was dumb

There’s an extra level between senior and staff, Fitbit’s levels: Engineer - Senior Eng - Lead Eng - Staff Eng - Senior Staff Eng - Principal Eng Not sure about staff but for senior expect L4ish comp for base and RSUs but a little on the low side compared to FAANG. ~150k base, ~60k rsu Target bonus will be 10% although can come in slightly lower even with meets since also tied partially to company performance Max 15k signing bonus Biggest downside is equity refreshers and merit increase absent a promotion are pretty weak
How does the bonus change along these escalating levels. If senior eng is 10% and Lead Eng is 12%, how does it increase through the top 3 levels?
