Fitbit ionic

What the hell is happening with these things?? If you have one you'd know that they basically just brick after a year. Any Fitbit people on here to explain what is going on?

The Fitbit firmware engineers must be from special ed or something. I've never had a Bluetooth device take forever to pair or completely fail to pair more often than my versa

Have u tried updating the FW on the Charge 3? That’ll take you 30 mins, stop whining lol

I literally said versa lol. And yes my firmware is up to date

True that. Also you can call Fitbit, and if within a year, they will send you a replacement. But yea, the unit is just junk

I've had multiple replacements. Charge 2 is still going strong but I guess I may opt for the Apple Watch. I just don't want to charge the thing every day

My Flex2 (which replaced a previous one that was broken) surprisingly works after a year and a half. But that's true, their only specialization must be in advertising.

Fitbit Ionic was a product that was made during a time where employees were being laid off and backfill was happening. At the same time a sequence of acquisitions occurred and production deadlines needed to be made, despite certain challenges of integrating assets from acquisitions. Fitbit devices are cheaply made, instead of repairing devices we just send you another one... It's cheaper to send you another one than repair anything.

Thanks for that explanation, but it's been almost 2 years since the Ionic was launched. What gives?
