Flying lessons on L1 visa

I was wondering if it is legal to take flying lessons and apply for a private pilots license as a foreign national on a L1 visa. I understand that I'll have to go through the TSA process and background verification. My question is more about if it is legal to take some kind of training on a work visa

It is, before the second class you need clearance from TSA. Literally the first link on google: https://www.aopa.org/advocacy/pilots/alien-flight-training-program/aliens-and-non-us-citizens-seeking-flight-training

And it'd be even better if someone who is on an L1 and undergoing training could chime in too! :)

I had taken flying lessons when i was in L1 and went up to do my solo. I had to take a break due work pressure.

This is very helpful. Thanks! Any flying school recommendations?
Any other tips on how to manage between work and flying? And also how does Seattle weather play into all this?

I did mine at Galvin. Expensive but good instructors. Make the most out of the weather from march to october. Afterwards it gets really tough to get up in the air.

As for juggling between work and flying, it is totally up to you and how you prioritize

Thanks for the tips! Am trying to find comparisons between Galvin and Rainier. Though at the end of the day I guess it just depends on the instructor
