You can always get attested letter from you colleagues that you worked with them. Loads of company don’t give employee verification letters.

I have colleagues from IBM and TCS who did this. Attorney will provide this option as an alternative.

Use work number

Also, W-2s or paystubs will be proof

HR will always give you Employment Verification Letter. I think, you are confusing Experience Letter from your manager vs. Employment Verification Letter

Verification != Reference. Any employer should be willing to say “yes [] worked here from X to Y”, but that’s not a reference, just employment verification. If that’s all you need you can also use your pay records (which your old company is required by law to provide)

You just need to reach out to your previous company HR. I recently did this for a company where i worked in 2014. Your attorney must have provided you a standard format which you can forward to them and request them to provide on company letterhead

Contact your managers there & get a letter about your work.
