SF is potentially going to ban the tech companies from providing free lunch to the employees in order to help local restaurants and encourage tech workers to engage in the societies. Do you support the free lunch ban? https://www.google.com/amp/s/abc7news.com/amp/business/sf-officials-merchants-to-discuss-legislation-banning-on-site-employee-cafeterias/3817027/
Seems dumb
Gotta love San Francisco
What if the companies providing lunch card to the local restaurants instead on-site cafeteria? Not only do employees still get free lunch but it helps local communities.
This seems pointless and would cause cafeteria workers to lose their jobs, which are likely better (in benefits and pay) than the ones they could get working at those local restaurants.
Existing cafeterias are unaffected
Even new ones, though
There is no free lunch... Company who provides lunch wants to squeeze the lunch hours into working hours... Go out during the lunch time n explore the eatries that sf has to offer..
Why? Is it really that fun? I’d rather read a book over cafeteria lunch.
Tens of thousands of employees from many tech companies in a densely populated area going out for lunch at the same time. What could go wrong? Traffic, accidents, lost work hours, people left starving in the office because they have to stay for urgent work. Dumb
I think it will only work for the companies located in downtown where restaurants are surrounding office buildings. It surely will create chaos for companies like MS
Why help local restaurants when they have tourists as customers?
Such a ban would lead to an increased use of catering services possibly owned by tech companies.
Huh, guess catering escapes this situation entirely, lol
SF should just ban everything and become Singapore
It should start with ban on shitting on the streets.
That is actually the one thing they should not ban
