This is some lonely sacrifice time. I am not enjoying my life like most 25 year old bachelor folks do. Everyone in my org is gonna have a party tonight. But here I am, working on a dream about which I have no idea if I will succeed. Failure in fulfilling that dream won't be an end of life but if I succeed I'll feel like never before, party like never before, travel like never before and relax like never before. Working like hell. One side I see all my friends enjoying their life comfortably but on the another side I keep myself disciplined thinking what Jobs, Gates, Bezos, Page, Brin, Musk, Pichai, Nadella would have done. Somehow I am workaholic and enjoy moments of achievements that come after working over year(s) rather than every Friday night or quarterly parties. Who all is(or will be) hustling this Friday night? How do you keep yourself disciplined while seeing others enjoy? If you've already been through the thoughts I have now, how did you pull yourself to the greater good?
If you're not enjoying the hustle now, you're not going to enjoy it later either.
It's not that am not enjoying the hustle, but sometimes I do get spikes of emotions that test my mental toughness.
You need a balance in all aspects of your life: work, family, social life, etc. This balance will help you to keep healthy/happy
Agreed. About to get married next year before which I am hustling as much as possible. I stay at the job location away from my family. But I do make a point to visit my family every month. Family >>> Career for me.
What are you working on that you can’t stop and relax on a Friday night?
I can stop and relax. But I don't get much time on weekdays. So trying to make the most of friday nights and weekends.
Some of the names in that list are not of the same quality as others. Some are frauds, some are right- time-right-place-licking that did not necessarily need the kind of hustle you are talking about.
We definitely have a thing or two to learn from them irrespective of how they made it to the list.
Dude, that’s the dark side of ambitions, you’re gonna be suffering your entire life 👍
Yeah .. this is the last ambition. Just want to give it a try. At least I won't have regret of not trying.
True! This one is the bright side, try to keep focus on it.
You do you, but be sure to practice self-care. For every name on your list there are thousands more who burn themselves out by pushing their mental and physical health too far, and there's nothing good about that.
Agreed. I don't mean to say I am desperate to be one of the names but .. yeah.. their work keeps me moving.
You sound like you’ve been programmed by a cult leader. Life is short. Enjoy it.
Cult leaders 😂 no no. Yeah.. few more months and I'll be done. Irrespective of whether I succeed or not, I'll be happy that I 'did the needful' 😁.
Money != happiness. Even if you do succeed at your obsessive dreams you may not end up happy
Dreams are not always about money. Never in my case. I earn good.

How about drop your shit and start having fun? Why do you want to be Jobs? He was an asshole and an unhappy man. Happiness is a decision taken by you. You decided to be unhappy.
Yeah .. you can say that it's choice of struggle (won't say unhappiness) for permanent happiness.
