Hi UI engineers at LinkedIn - I would like to get some onsite interview prep guidance/tips for frontend role at LinkedIn. There is a lot of info on Glassdoor but not much specific to frontend. I got some info from the recruiter regarding the various modules etc but it would be great to get some input from you all on what are some good sources to prepare and what I could expect- E.g. Algo and coding round- is leet code a good resource for this round? Or do the questions tend to be any different for frontend. Similarly how about system design/architecture? What can I expect in the technology/product taste module? Any good resources I can use to prepare for this? Any other pointers? Thanks!
LinkedIn is a joke, they hire any one who can half code and is popular on GitHub. Worked there and got pretty fed up with their bullshit, so left.
Nice, throwing dirt at your previous company. I wonder how Facebook was ok to hire you.
First make sure you understand JavaScript well. You should know closures, how scope works, this, etc. You would be surprised how many people don't know the basics but can write a full app in React. Next make sure you are comfortable with transforming and munging data. If we give you some array of objects you should be able to produce whatever we want from that data. There are some algorithm questions but most of them are not that difficult since it's fairly rare frontend people need to write/use them. Have an opinion about the user experience and care about the products you work on. Good communication skills are also a plus. Work on white board coding. If you have never done an interview on a white board make sure to practice because it's a skill. Keep calm. Ask questions and dont assume anything.
Also make sure you know obscure CSS skills like how to write a tooltip in pure CSS with all accessibility, else get rejected.
Ah yeah thanks for reminding me. Understand some basic accessibility principles as well. You should also know CSS.
How did your interview with LinkedIn go? Any tips for the product taste round?
By the way I’m interviewing this week. What are CA for UI and SDA for UI? These are in my email
How did the interviews go? Do you mind share your experiences?
