Does anyone here know what kind of technologies are used? Any c++ knowledge required? What are the interviews like? My recruiter doesn’t seem to have much knowledge about those questions.
I recently had very bad experiences with a recruiter from Cruise Automation as well. Let's just say I hope their engineers won't behave like their recruiters.
A cruise recruiter reached out to me last week. I’m hesitant to respond after reading your comment. Mind sharing your experience?
Yes. I applied for a senior SWE role there, and a recruiter responded to my application several days later. We scheduled a time to chat regarding background and position. At the scheduled time, no call. I waited like 20 minutes, then emailed him. He said "Sorry I was pulled into a meeting in the last minute, blablabla". I always gave good faith for the first time, so I re-scheduled another time with him. Guess what? The second time he didn't call either. This time I didn't bother to ask why and I never heard from this guy after that. I recently interviewed with more than 10 top big companies and good startups, Cruise Automation is THE only company who had such an unprofessional recruiter. I'm not saying it's a bad company. Maybe I just had bad luck. Just want to share my experience though. Use your caution.
Varies widely by the day of week. Monday's tend to be a lot more focused on cultural fit for that role where as later in the week physical fitness and ability to work on diesel motors are weighed more.
In all honesty, it's very similar to other interviews for a full stack role. Most interviews coding/algorithms/data structures one with a little more focus on architecture. Data background is not required nor is c++ but won't hurt to have. Knowledge of golang is a plus, as is for any frontend technologies like react or similar
Nothing required except for general programming ability, curiosity, enthusiasm for learning new technology. Practically on the job there’s a lot of python, some golang. C++ as well, but less if that for ‘full stack’ roles.
It's mostly go, react, and some python. Pretty typical interviews. The self-driving side is what requires C++
how is the comp typically structured and what is the range for a senior eng?

If your recruiter doesn’t know that’s a red flag company for me
