Heard congress distributing wealth
Hi, Right now, I'm making $6800 (Take home), very comfortable where I am, I have plenty of time to learn other stuff and look into personal projects. Also, I'm an expat and I can go to my home country and work from there whenever I want. I have an offer right now for $8000, but I should go to the office every day. If you were in my shoes, would you say Yes to the offer? If not, what is the minimum salary that you'd give up these conditions for? Thank you for your time. ----- Edit, all salaries are monthly.
Are the payment frequencies the same? Where is the office? How's the commute? How often do you currently work from outside your home?
Yes the same frequency, the commute is horrible. I work outside the office almost every day, but I go there to change the mood and catch up with my friends
It looks like working from the office would only give you an 18% TC bump, which i wouldn't take if your commute will indeed be horrible, with other factors such as career progression, etc, being equal.
Remote. Assuming career progression is not a concern.
Definitely not a concern for me.
Do you need more money? I count fully remote as being worth 100% of the take home pay to compare with in office. So if 6800 is fully remote, I would want 13600+ to go back to an office. In that case I would say this is a bad deal. But you might put a different premium on it than I would.
Why do you count remote as 100% take home? That's a very hefty premium that you're applying, so I'm just curious. Do you currently travel a lot? Would you hate the commute?
I would be lying if I said I don't need more money. I really don't think I can negotiate +13600. I think I can go up to $10K
I would ask for more to work remote. Need to pay my own heating, internet, power, food and cleaning bills and I’m saving them a desk space.
Why couldn't they just outsource your job then? It's not like critical scientist work where they NEED you in the office
Because I’m a 10x engineer
Remote for sure
Remote, without question! This is not even debatable!
Let's do the math. Pretend you work 40 hour weeks. That's basically 39 dollars an hour. How long is your commute time? Also are you expected to be at work for an hour lunch? If theres 20 world days in a month and it's an hour one way commute that's basically 1500 a month of your time. If you're stuck there for an hour lunch that's like 2200. I would break it down like this because chances are you'll end up even or behind if you go.
Also if wlb is extra important or driving stresses you and you need wind down time at home you can inflate your at home hourly wage or the number of hours to account for wind down
Find multiple remote jobs and outsource one. 🤣🤣🤣
Also you’ll probably have to spend on a Car which is another $400-$600
Free shuttle FTW
Wtf is your unit?
Unit?
Monthly I would guess
