Anyone know about projects that are targeting a UX revolution? Particularly beyond VR/AR/MR, machine learning, and mind control.

We can't even maintain security of technology we have in place now. I'm all for augmented intelligence, I just have deep reservations it can ever work in a world with radical extremists, Russians, republicans and trump. It's going to be an out of control disaster.

Do you think it will remove the need for menus and category stacks?

No it will supliment traditional paridimes not replace. The key will be understanding native language it's more difficult to think of the correct phrase / utterance than to move around a well built app. but this will get better over time

With that being said, do you believe we will eventually be able to build conversational interfaces with the absence of "guidance"? (ie, instructions on example utterances) Basically creating a completely open-ended interaction.

yes but the key to doing that is using other tools to learn. If Google or Amazon were able to give user information such as hobbies interest and context clues to user behavior an app could handle voice the same way that search is Taylored to the user. we would know what the user wants to do before they know. Even better if we connect a voice to a person. This will all happen just take more time. I look at it like training a dog providing positive feedback like good boy or thank you after an utterance could help ai train your app or assistant
