GE TC

I recently joined GE, and I feel their total compensation for a staff software engineer is bit below the market range. I was offered
150k base and a 10 percent bonus.

  • Only 10%? It’s supposed to 15% for LPB in GED.

I’m not in Bay Area , I had to really negotiate to at least match my tc

    • Well, even better then. I think you did well, I’m just surprised about the bonus. Unless you’re talking about sign on.

If it's in the bay area, it's good! Didn't read that first

If you look through blind and expect everyone to pay you that much, you are sadly mistaken. Many people got there by upping their LC skills, smashing their interviews and getting multiple fang offers. Need to keep grinding.

Yeah , that’s what I realized when interviewing at one the faang companies. The questions were not one real world problems that I solved at work, it was based on the LC . I was just relying on cracking the coding interview which didn’t help much with the nature of interviews these days

Woah. It's a little below market for non-FAANG too with your experience I think. What's the TC? Hope they are matching with bonus & RSU

If you have no other offers, work there for a year and start applying for jobs again. I would rent if it's a new area or there aren't many other jobs around
