n 2013, Kappanna was part of a small team of engineering students in West Virginia whose research helped expose Volkswagen’s decadelong conspiracy to lie about its diesel cars’ emissions. The German carmaker has paid $23 billion so far to resolve criminal charges and lawsuits in the United States, and $33 billion overall.

GM fired him - he could have easily got a job with Ford or Tesla or Daimler... list goes on. But NO! MAGA - F those immigrants taking our jobs. He will take his research back to India. Trumpies keep on complaining about immigrants taking your jobs.

If his vertical executed the layoffs the way mine did, there was no rhyme or reason to who was selected. They didn't axe him for any other reason than that him being let go made their numbers fit with what legal gave them.
