I'm a new grad, finding it really difficult to get calls for jobs just by applying online. Can any of you folks help me out in my application process? Thanks
Looking for New grad SDE roles
Can you clarify a few things:
1. Bachelor's/ Masters?
2. Major?
3. Prior work experience?
4. Looking for roles in tech, finance, ops?
5. Location?
Just applying online may not cut it, especially if you aren't from a top school, at times even if you are from top schools. Perhaps it time to change strategies and do more than just what you've been doing. IMO referral is a much better route other than on campus recruitment for fresh grads. Has someone looked at your resume? If you haven't had any calls, may be it's time to revise the resume. Use the STAR format for the resume (Google it, tons of examples). Be sure to have it reviewed independently by professionals or your school's career services or both. Understand that there are thousands applying to these companies, so what sets you apart for the position? Be sure that is evident on the resume. Network with people at the company and get to learn more about them and the organization. I don't think people will refer you without knowing you.
Hope this helps a little!

Gotcha
Let me clarify few things:
1- Master
2- Computer Engineering - Top 20 Public school
3- No professional Yoe just couple of internships during my masters period
4- Looking for roles in tech, any entry level role in Software Engineering would do
5- Currently on east coast but I'm flexible to locate in entire US
I have already gone to people at University who reviewed it and they said it's fine, you can go ahead with it.
If anyone would like to have a look at my Resume, please let me know I can DM.
Thanks for this post. Looking for networking with people here.
The additional info helps. Do you need a visa? Do you know if that's causing an issue? I'd suggest being open to other competing organizations. A foot in the door at other organizations and you can work hard to transition to your preferred companies in a few months. In my experience, all my friends with Masters, who got into GS and IBM, had some prior experience. So you are competing against a stronger pool of candidates. But that said, you are also more advanced (academically) than a bachelor's candidate.
I m happy to review your resume and provide pointers. I have a burner email that I use, I ll send that to you later today. Please feel free to strip your personal details if you like. I used to be in tech but I m in GRC management, so while I'll know my way around your resume, I tend to review it as a non-EM. Hope that works for you.
