I’ve been trying to get an interview for the Data Engineer role but have been unsuccessful. I applied via a referral in December but got a rejection email within one day. I just need a chance to be interviewed for that role. What do you suggest I do? Also, my profile matches a lot with the role that I’m applying for except the fact that I use AWS instead of Google Cloud. Could that be one of the reasons for rejection? should I keep reapplying in every few months?
Find a Spotify recruiter on LinkedIn. These folks are from a staffing agency who work for Spotify on a contract basis. Directly getting in touch with one of them will help.
I suggest you add 3 years of experience OR work at a more "prestigious" tech company. And if you haven't already, make sure that your ethnic composition doesn't go against the Rule of Stock. I didn't make the rules.
What is the Rule of Stock?
Basically, if you're not mostly composed of one or more the big 3 dominant groups, then they're going to laugh at you and find ways to not bring you aboard, despite your technical expertise and communication abilities and persona.
