Has anyone heard about this company that gets engineers offers without having to interview with companies? They work by recording videos of the candidate interviewing, then the hiring managers can review the footage and make a decision. They are doing what the JVM did for programming; interview once, interview everywhere.
Essentially standardized testing?
It’s not that objective
One form of that is certification and it sucks.
What’s the company
I heard about it recently, but can’t remember the name!
You can move by connections and good references. No interview needed. Does that count.
Amazon can use a combination of assessment and a system called HireVue which records you answering questions but that is only for initial screening. There is still an in person on-site before offer. Also, not every team values hirevue so I dont think it is highly adopted at amzn
Record how? The phone call? Candidate typing?
Via camera. Some teams record videos.
I really doubt if any reputable company b would hire someone without interviewing. So it's not very useful unless you are willing to work for an unknown startup.
