Hi everyone! I had an internship at one of { GS, JP, MS, BoA } last summer but didn’t get the return offer for full time. I scored high technically but I was told that I didn’t get it due to low “communication” score (I understand why, I wasn’t the easiest person to work with). So far, I’ve been rejected after every on-site I’ve been to (Facebook, Google, Microsoft) and I’m seriously doubting my ability to even get an offer (with graduation approaching in just a few months and 0 offers currently in hand). Should I email my recruiter from my last internship to ask/beg if there’s any way of getting a return offer? Or is there a 0% chance of that happening at this point?
0%. I would move on and think about how you can improve your communication. It’s good that you recognize that there is room for improvement there - good luck!
There must a single reason for this rejections. Why don’t you work on that ? Talk to your advisor or placement co-ordinator. Once you address that single and simple thing, you will be a high flyer for sure.
Based on your background I’m guessing finance, so being able to talk to people is crucial as your role will require lots of collaboration with different stakeholders in the company. You seem to be somewhat of an introvert or might come off as one; try a Dale Carnegie course and then try again. Not getting a job right after college won’t be the end of your career and will be inconsequential in the long run. Keep that in mind. Good luck.
> Should I email my recruiter from my last internship to ask/beg if there’s any way of getting a return offer? NO. Spend time collecting feedback from people whom you've worked with/do some introspection and then try to put together what's missing.
