Currently in talks with one of the top tech firms. I had offer from another firm, so negotiated with the top tech firm for higher pay, very politely. The recruiter said she will look into what can be done and hasn't responded since then (3 working days) and the deadline is tomorrow. Should I accept the other offer? Have I ruffled someone's feathers?
Always negotiate in a polite way. 3 days is nothing. I would reach out to the Recruiter saying that I'm really interested in the role and wanted to learn if a decision has been made since I have to respond to another offer.
That's also a negotiation tactic: using the deadline to pressure you by dragging their feet. If you are willing to walk just ignore the deadline but follow up -- likely result is deadline gets de facto extended.
I guess you might be right. She responded right away, just now, when I said I am really interested in working at top tech firm and would be glad to hear back from you. Obviously, she didn't increase the pay.
3 days is not ghosting! You must have had a hard online dating life.
Online dating is for losers according to me :P But yeah I am completely new to ghosting.
yup, ghosting is a new social phenomenon.
I agree. Although I really feel bad that they might have used the deadline as pressuring me into accepting the offered pay.

You should not negotiate if you are not ready to walk away.
Agreed. Learning lesson the hard way. Any suggestions on how can I undo this mistake?
Accept the offer.
