I did my phone interview early May. I didn't hear back for more than 1 month, so I emailed the recruiter and asked about it. He immediately replied back (towards the end of the day) with a positive sounding email and asked to talk on the phone the next day. I said sure, but he never called the next day. I waited a week and emailed him back and he never replied back to that either. I sent an email Monday this week and left a voicemail and still did not hear back this week either. I don't think he's on vacation as I don't get any auto-reply back and he is active on LinkedIn. The interviewer himself said I did really good at the end of the interview. I haven't received any rejection email from Google yet. I was asked a medium and had about 6 follow up questions leading it into a hard. I know Google is slow but I don't think this is normal even in Google terms. I am employed, my TC is $235k; YOE is 9. Is there any point of waiting? I do not want to invest the time studying for an onsite if there will be none. Thanks.
Move on. Maybe something comes of it as a surprise one day.
Thank you. I just wish they'd have the decency to respect people and let them know a decision regardless of the outcome rather than stretching time on and on. It's not difficult to send a rejection email.
Same experience here as well but recruiter is responsive. You interviewed for GCP,,, Tech or Non Tech??
I didn't interview for any org in particular. This was just the phone interview for SWE.
Still better than mine. Recruiter ghosted me after clearing 2 technical interviews. He did say that he is working on customizing the panel for onsite interview for better chances but its been a year.
You know it could be worse, I was just ghosted by HALF my interviewers for an ONSITE I traveled in for lol
Sorry you went through that. I’d move on.
Thanks, I've decided to move on - I don't know why people do this. It's not hard to send a "no". I'm already at a very reputable company and I just don't have the time or energy to waste doing Leetcode after 9 - 9.5 hours of work each day. There is a young child I have to care for and a house to maintain. :/
