Ever ghost a job on the first day of work? https://www.cnn.com/2019/09/16/success/ghosting-first-day-of-work/index.html
Man, I hope people enjoy the good times when you can get away with doing stuff like this. It's smooth sailing now, but when the bell tolls for tech it's going to toll hard
Well if you find a gig that pays you at least 25 pct more, yeah.
Ghosting is the norm in tech. If you are not ghosting or getting ghosted 2-3 times a year, you are not doing it right.
Ghosting is for pussies. Have some bare minimum integrity, call your manager or recruiter or at least send an email. Remember, what goes around comes around.
Not in the tech world it doesnât. We are all thugs for hire.
Tech thugs == entitled nerds lol
How will there be less demand for tech?
Tech world is smaller than you think. The manager you ghosted could have a network that could decimate you if you guys ever cross paths. Have some moral and stand up to tell the company you have better things you might think are good for your career.
One of my former managers applied to a job where I was one of the decision makers. He had no idea, we hadnât worked together for over 5 years and definitely had not kept in contact. You might guess how that worked out for him ;)
Honestly I donât want to guess how it worked out for him. Honestly if my ex manager applied for a job and I am the reviewer, I wonât be a piece of shit and reject my ex manager if he/she has done well in interviews. Unless of course, if the ex manager is really terrible and failed at leading teams, then I would go through how the manager has changed in the time I didnât work with her/him. Maybe you will live your life at Google always, but people tend to change companies, and you do not want to burn the bridge. In OPâs case, OP is completely dropping out without even showing up. Now that manager be a good manager. So do you justify that OP should reject that manager just because OP thinks the manager has a grudge on OP for not showing up? That is how your explanation is. Grow up. Yes TC is important. But if you canât have your own values then it doesnât matter.
Skills Win / $$ Wins : They are all ghosts until they need you or you need them. Nobody will put your best interest first if you donât.
It would be tight to ghost a startup for Google bro. Not a chill move but itâs all about that TC brah
