Hello everyone, My girlfriend is moving to Seattle and will start applying to UX Design jobs (primarily for tech companies), but she is not sure how to put herself forward. She is applying through the career pages of the companies but we were thinking that she can get better exposure by reaching out to recruiters. However, we are not sure if she should reach out to Technical recruiters or UX Designers. I am doing SWE and unfortunately I do not know how to help her about this. She has a website and a nice portfolio that she can easily share. What is the best way to get UX Design contacts? Maybe references even? I'm tagging few companies that she was looking into but she is interested in all opportunities :) She'll be reading this thread with me.
Her first mistake is moving to Seattle
She was in San Antonio, Texas previously so I think it might be an improvement :)
I personally think reaching out to both recruiters and UX designers helps. The reason to reach out to both is that, not all the recruiters are open to accept connection request on LinkedIn
Tell her to stay away from too many โtipโs
How do you think she could "get her work out there", she has a website but she has been working in architecture up until recently
DM me. Recently heard about this requirement in our org
