Part of the interview went really well and other parts didn't so overall I think it was good. The question is. One of the team members at the end said, "see you" They shared some inside information too and asked about salary and role too. Do those things mean that there is hope? Or should I start moving on?
What company?
You should avoid sharing salary info during an interview. If you expect more than they want to pay, they'll eliminate you early. If you request less than they were expecting to pay then you lose out. Make them say the first number
No you should say the number first. You have to know what a reasonable number is of course but it’s better to be the first one to say the number. Then the rest of the discussion revolves around the anchor you set.
Is that you Betty from recruiting?
Have been through this a week back, so totally understand how you must be feeling. However do not read too much into the words said by the interviewers. Over analyzing the interview will only make you restless and anxious. Easier said than done, but still chill for the weekend and hope you hear something positive on Monday.
I also tell ticket agents "You too" when they tell me to have a good flight. Just because an awkward engineer used a common greeting doesn't mean they put much thought into it.
I do this with the maitre d that shows us to our table and says "enjoy your meal" <facepalm>
I always say "see you" as a way to say goodbye, even to strangers whom I know I will never see them. Nothing more than a bye. You are reading too much into it
When a recruiter sends you an email to schedule a call please don’t forget to analyze it word by word. Does she start an email with just your name or does it start with hi? Does she end the sentence with ! or .. ? How come she asked for an availability next week and not in 2 hours?
Mind going into what each of these might actually mean. I’ll cross reference with prior engagements
Hi means I will try to be formal you are anyways screwed . Name - good , direct care ! - excitement ? - confusion Next week - she doesn’t care Next 2 hours - I care and worry about you
When the interviewer said “see you” , did you ask when and where ?
Blind’s version of “Girl said hi to me, does she want the D?”
Hahaha now that you said it I see how ridiculous I sound. I just really want and need this job.
Interview somewhere else. Good to have multiple offers, if possible, helps on negotiation.
