I talked to a recruiter from Marcus about two product management roles. I am currently a software engineer in the bay area but want to do client facing roles like this. What can I expect in this phone call and how exactly do I show myself the capable candidate?
600k Tc at vp. Marcus is hiring HARD
Cool story, bro
This dude is full of shit
I would strongly suggest to be put of GS or Marcus, they are not in a good shape. Come to JPMC! If you want finance or Amazon Financial side (I hear that they are hiring).
Lmao
LOL
Still wondering how best I can prepare for this call? I’m not so interested in knowing TC and all yet.
To prepare for a client facing role in PM (imho) normally you look to be a buffer of both worlds. Be the partner of your tech lead to be able to come up with a roadmap to get the product developed in time and with the features that you want. Also be the partner of your client (stakeholder) to be able to capture their needs in a timely manner and inform them the development process and manage expectations. So think of good presentation skills, high than avergage tech understanding of the product ( some people do, some people dont, but imho a good PM is well versed at least in the tech and processes inside his product), agile/scrum could be a plus and i bet (total speculation) that some situational questions or case solving questions on priorities will be asked in the interview.
Product management at Marcus will be more ITIL project management than product management. Stay away
What's ITIL?
