Goldman Sachs new hire Salt Lake City and Dallas.

Is it true that the total compensation at Utah and Texas offices are comparatively lower than that of NYC. I would really appreciate it if anyone could provide the total compensation at Utah and Texas offices for a new graduate (BS degree) software engineering role at Goldman Sachs. I heard that it's a lot less in these offices. Thank you!!

Makes sense if they did. IIRC NYC offer is 100k base + 35k bonus for offers given to new grads last year.

Cost of living in SLC and Dallas are both significantly lower than NYC. Most companies have pay rates that differ by location.

Do you pay less for GS services if you are a company based in Utah or Dallas? The cost of living thing is real, no denying, but I call bullshit.

Supply and demand. Employees and employers are geographically constrained in a way that GS products are not, which puts different economic forces on both.

Yes itโ€™s true. SLC comp is significantly lower than NYC comp at GS (by design, itโ€™s a cost reduction strategy for them). Source: know multiple people who work at GS SLC.

Do you know the estimated base at SLC or Dallas ? I heard that they put less competitive employees there. Somebody told me this, "Best ones(in most cases people from elite schools) are placed in NYC." Is it true ? Thanks!

Do they still hire in Dallas? When I was there all they did were reorgs and layoffs daily. Everyone in Archon was fired or left. It was a very sad state
