Goldman Sachs prestige 2019

How prestigious is working at Goldman Sachs in 2019? I remember like 6 years ago it was about as prestigious as working at Google etc. Now I feel like it's barely tier 2. If you want to go to finance 2s/js is where it's at.

Finance back office here. GS was and is still a lot more prestigious and high-paying than almost all their competition.

Depend on whom you consider their competitors. Back office in another banks? Yes. Front office else where? Bloody no. To be precise, some groups at certain banks are prestigious. The rest is just riding the bandwagon. It is completely different from the tech world.

Plot twist: Atinlay2 is just an nlp bot that constantly scrapes blind for posts with the word prestigious

  • There comes the prestigious idiot. When you say “how prestigious”, do you expect people to quantify prestige?

Is it still ‘prestige’? Well, Yes and No

Yes because it is the number one investment bank and if you want to work in wall street this is the most “prestigious” place where you should be
No because over the years, I have seen more people leave GS to work for Google but hardly seen a Google employee moving here

Thanks, this is the response I've been looking for. Do you think the decline has been recent? Whereas in the past gs was the "Google of Wallstreet" nowadays its not really on the same level.
