Good L63 TC?

For Senior SWE in Bing team. Finished all rounds well, AA interviewer was selling me MSFT big time and drowned me in Bing koolaid. Pretty optimistic. If/when recruiters call I'm thinking of anchoring a high but reasonable number (75th percentile). What will be a good base+RSU to ask for without pricing myself out of the market? I have done that in the past with a tier 2 company and they withdrew they offer (I ask for $180k TC and their initial number was $130k). No FAANG level competing offers. My BATNA are all Tier 2 and reach $180k TC max.

Ask for $160k base, $200k RSUs, $50k sign on. They may give you $100k-$150k RSUs and $20k sign on

I've seen l63 offers with 320k rsu. That doesnt mean you'll get that though. I might go a little higher say 160 base, 50k sign on, 250k rsu and see what that gets you. Without competing top company offers or experience expect that to be worked down to 155/120/30.

What's the chance of them withdrawing the offer if I go in that high? Happened to me at another company...

Go in with a lesser number if you're worried. Get a competing offer in the mean time and then you can go back and quote a higher number.

First get the base offer letter. Start talking about numbers and see what they can match. I am surprised big companies withdraw offers. Also, tell them why you are asking more money, instead of give me more money.

Isn't it quite far along by the time they generate the offer letter?

Yeah, they arent giving you an offer letter unless you accept the job. At least that's normally the case.
