Google - If you get an L3 offer, can you still request an interview for L4 within a year?

@Google I’ve heard that a Google offer is good for one year if you make the cut. We also all know that there’s a 1 year cooling period to reinterview with Google if you do not pass I recently went onsite for SWE at Google with 2 years of experience, and although I feel pretty good about tbe interviews, am not confident I didn’t get downleveled to L3. Supposedly the L3 offer is good for one year. However, if I wanted to re-interview within a year for L4, would this be allowed?(Would being leveled as L3 count as “failing” the L4 loop?) If I am downleveled, I don’t think I’d take Google’s offer at this point even with greater compensation as my current compensation is fair and my career progression in Facebook is pretty solid at the moment. Would anyone know anything about this?

Yes, you can apply 12 months from now again, for a L4 position. You might end up getting L3 again or might end up getting L4 this time. That depends.
