Last yr i was rejected after onsite, which was expedited w/o phone screen due to another offer. Recruiter girl didnt know nor care where workex fit well (yoe 15+) so just kept saying on the call that she was arranging "embedded sw loop" (i don't do embedded sw just sw that is used to translate chip designs aka EDA, but she was ignorant of the difference). Later i learned she didnt have shit together for arranging a proper loop related to my work ex and she did L4 loop despite yoe. 1 yr later now, i'm thinking of trying again. - How should i approach google so relevant loop is set? - There may still be generalist sw sessions, but could most loop be set for a specialized role? - How are those from HW/EDA background interviewed for hire at goog? @google @facebook @intel
You need to drive the discussion, recruiter wouldn’t know. First have a clear resume which talks about your generic SWE ability/ projects. EDA could be confusing to recruiters. Then tell him/her you want ML/Gen track etc Your level should atleast be L5+
I did. She was fresh out of college, humanities major, only categorzing engineers as embedded or Swe, and wasnt interested to know more.
You failed L4 loop with 15+yoe?
Well to be fair he's not an swe..
Yes, like i said yoe has not much to do with it.
