Google Cloud TAM

I just heard back from the recruiter and they are sending my application to HC! I'm beyond thrilled to have this opportunity. Furthest I've made it in a faang though I did intern at msft. I am being asked about my salary expectations in writing now. I have verbally said that I am looking at a base of 150-160k. I have no competing offers yet but I am in final rounds with a unicorn. How should I approach this? Anybody have any advice for me? I've never negotiated a salary before. All the info I see on glassdoor is much lower than the TC I see bandied about here. Recruiter is also telling me that I won't know my level till I start which I find absurd but not sure if that's the norm. 3.5 YOE (2 years in management consulting and 1.5 in a startup as a data scientist) BBA in MIS from a top 5 school MS in data science from a top 5 school (in CS. No rankings for ds yet) Current TC 120k (contractor so this is just salary) Thanks!

What level? Although too late, almost never give out salary expectation.

Yeah I fucked it. Like I said the recruiter said that I won't find out about level till after hc and even then it's confidential till I start.

That's bs, I was told what level I was offered last time and what level I'm interviewing for this time

Sorry, what's a TAM? I only know this acronym as total addressable market

OP, did you ever end up getting the role?? Would be curious to hear any updates, especially in terms of what the TC ended up being — we have pretty similar backgrounds/YOE :) Thank you!

Op, since they transferred your interview from other role, 1) was it only TAM RRK that you had to do? 2) how long did it take you to hear back after your RRK phone interview?

Bump. OP, did you accept the role, and if so, what did you end up getting as base?
