Google Data Center Technician
Offered DCT 2 position in Northern VA. Base: $60,000 Equity: $48,000 Yearly Bonus: ~$9,000 Sign On: $11,000 this is after negotiations, which will be a loss of $18,000 from my current base pay. Will the paycut be worthwhile to get into Google? I also would like to know more about the equity.
Getting Google may be worth the hit for longer term goals
Equity will vest over 4 years and is like cash I work with some HWOps techs. There is good upward mobility. I know several L5s who got started in HWOps. I recommend taking the cut. Also, you will be near a regular Google office as well for other perks, in Reston and in DC
Take the hit for a year or two for the experience, connections and resume.
Do they do market adjustments? Considering this inflation and crazy rent.
