Assuming a candidate is going to be sent to hiring committee, does the recruiter usually get in touch with the candidate before the committee meeting?
Google recruiters are generally very approachable. I sent an email to my recruiter right after the on-site and discussed the timeline with her. She was in touch with me, giving me updates, leading to the day my packet reached HC (which was 10 days later). She called me 5 mins after the HC meeting to tell me the result as the recruiters are also present at the HC meeting!
That’s awesome, thanks! I hope you got in.
Yeah but didn’t get L4. Got L3. Thanks :)
Phone calls for all ‘new news’ (good or bad) and emails for any follow ups / clarifications / etc
Honesty, I’ve found that recruiters are just super busy so they won’t be consistent in getting in touch with you.
Yes, after onsites and before hiring committee, recruiter will be in touch to collect additional info for packet (salary expectations, promo velocity, internal references, etc)
I was asked about these before my onsite though...
Yep, I was asked for references really early in the process via email. And then asked again right before my onsite rounds as part of some official paperwork. Salary expectations were briefly touched on early but wasn’t until after the on-site did we really have to discuss that crap.

Why are Americans obsessed with SUV?
They tend to say if/when you're going to committee, usually to check if they need to rush it because of an exploding offer from another company
