Google Hiring Committee for Non Engineering Roles

Have been searching posts from blind and quora. However, can not really find a lot of information about google hiring committee for Non-Tech roles. Was wondering what is the difference between Non-Tech HC and Eng HC. Seems Eng HC is very picky. Also would like to know what should I submit as an internal reference. Does it have a lot of impact. I do not have any ex colleagues who joined Google. So might need to submit classmates or friends. And is internal reference a standard input for the HC process?

Yup, no help for non tech.. which team are you trying for?

GCP. I am just trying to get a sense of the difference of HC between tech and non-tech. It seems tech HC is very picky.

They’ve kinda reduced/removed HC as a significant step for many non-eng client-facing roles in cloud. TK has done this. Basically, if all your interview results are strong, HC isn’t going to reject you, it’ll be more a matter of the compensation committee and VP agreeing on your level and comp.

Thanks for your reply. I was nervous as when I ask my recruiter about whether interview feedback is mixed or pretty much positive. I was told specific details can not be revealed and the fact that I move to HC is their was positive feedback. So I don’t know how to interpret. And BTW what is TK short for?

TK = Thomas Kurian, the new head of Cloud. If they really want you/show great potential, then the recruiter will get you to redo interview stages to get higher scores on it. I’ve heard that for sales roles in Cloud currently, if all the stages you perform strongly in, then they don’t see why you need to undergo HC as well. Again, this is just something overheard. You still get levelled and comp committee plus VC review regardless.

Not a direct answer to your question, but just wanted to comment as someone in a similar process. I've gone through interviews for a non-tech role in gTech in MTV, but was told that no candidate can be submitted to HC right now. The recruiter said they rejected all the other candidates, but wanted to put me on hold until the process can be resumed. I was told that the hold may last until July. Wishing you a good luck!

I am in another site. And recruiter will submit next week. But really nervous about the result.

Any updates OP? My recruiter also didn’t mention anything about my feedback.

I got the offer. I guess it is their standard process.

Did your recruiter ask for your salary expectations and such before your hc?

Did you finally find any difference? I am going to HC for account manager role so now filling it a document about expectation salary etc... I guess tech HC is more picky... but no ideas about non-tech HC
