Any insight into Google interview based questions? Glassdoor shows a lot of trivial hypothetical questions and wondering if thats standard or based on the role you’re applying for?
Look up "Cracking the PM Interview" book and study it, especially behavioral, experiential, and Fermi estimation questions
And it varies based on role and org.
I can’t speak to non-tech but I can almost certainly say that those include at least one G&L interview. That would be the typical “describe a time when...” with the caveat that the interviewer is going to deep dive into your answer to expose holes, mistruths, etc. Most companies ask a question, you answer with some vague scenario that happened (possibly even involving you) and then they move on. The G&L interviewer is likely to keep asking for more clarification to solve the questions of “did this really happen, what was your role *actually*, and what do I think of your process in general” That said, it’s best not to lie here since if that’s detected, interviewer will likely fail you outright and write as much in the feedback.
Happy to help!
Thanks! I appreciate it. I read online that Google got rid of an array of questions like “Explain how five minus two equals four?” . Is that true or do they still ask those kinds of hypothetical questions mixed in with situational hypothetical questions relating to the role?
true, very rarely would a hiring manager want to throw those in (outside of script/set questions) but the set questions are quite straightforward. Like tell me about a time whenm....
What non-tech role are you interviewing for?
I haven’t applied yet, I’m planning on applying in a few months. I’ve been saving roles that I’m interested in and making sure my resume shows transferable skill sets relating to those roles. There is a Content Manager, Hardware Marketing position that I am interested in.
prep for marketing based behavioural questions in STAR format tell me about a time when you resolved conflict in a team, solved a marketing issue ect ect thats really helped me during interviews
How would you handle 2 client requests for the same time slot? How would you convince product/eng to prioritize a feature request?
Thanks everyone for your help and sharing all of your knowledge! Does anyone know the leveling guides compared to Amazon? I heard they determine your level after the interview at Google? I am an L5 in marketing at Amazon.

Lots of "how would you approach this problem" questions to show critical and analytical thinking ability. Besides that use the resource your recruiter provided!
