I'm likely to be matching with a team in Kirkland but prefer to live in the Seattle area as there's a younger crowd (I'm in my early 20s), family nearby, and more to do around the area. Fremont seems like the place I want to be as it's nearby the Google office there. However I can't find any info online about the Seattle office to Kirkland office Gbus schedule. Is the bus a viable option for commuting to the Kirkland location? Is it usually very full and how often does that bus go across?
Bing it
I would consider capitol hill or udistrict over Fremont. Similar vibes (bohemian, young, ect..), but better public transit options (light rail stations), better bar scenes, & a bit closer to the 520 bridge.
The bus times seem long no matter Fremont/u district. And if I'd be driving then that means paying the 520 toll which I'd rather not do. That's why taking the Google shuttle seems my only way to live near Seattle but not pay an additional $200 a month
Aren't they opening more offices on Mercer between Fred Hutch and Allen Institute this year?
There’s a bus connecting the two offices. It would be easy to take that to Kirkland if you live near the Fremont office. There’s also buses with scheduled stops throughout the area as well if you wanted to live in cap hill or something. I commute by car to Kirkland from Seattle; it’s not too bad.
Yeah I've found an apartment like a 8-10 min walk from the Fremont office. Do you know how often the Gbuses go between the offices or if people say they're very full?
