Google L3 offer expectation

Master s with YOE 1 in US 2 in India. Got competing offer around 260k. Wanted to know if Google will match this. Pretty sure I'll get L3 level. I have been seeing a lot of lowballing posts hence asking .

I've heard that they will match pretty much anything but how they interpret other company's TC will vary

Can you explain bit more on that. I calculated TC with : base + bonus/4+ rsu/4+annual bonus %. That's totally fair I guess

If you had an offer which had long term incentive plans, for example, that doesn't convert 1:1 to a Google offer which has RSUs. Just talk to your recruiter

Google चाचा चौधरी Feb 5, 2019

That's an excellent offer. Can you it breakdown?

Cloudera tell me OP Feb 5, 2019

Thank you, I would still love joining Google, but I just don't want to go for the brand if I don't get matching comp.

Cloudera tell me OP Feb 5, 2019

It is around 165, 250,70 bonus

Google taxq Feb 5, 2019

As long as it’s not paper money, G can match it.

Cloudera tell me OP Feb 5, 2019

Cool thanks

Well G does not match my all cash offer. The recruiter doesn’t divide signon by 4 then call it “ match” .

Cloudera tell me OP Feb 5, 2019

You mean sign on is added as first year TC? That's not a fair distribution. Then my current counter offer would be like 290k right for year 1

VMware gukfsqrg Feb 5, 2019

Yes that is how my google recruiter calculate TC. And if joining now first refresh comes at 2021. I don’t think it is a good deal for me, so I turn it down. Will try later.

Google fblowball Feb 5, 2019

I don't think G would would be matching that unless it's from fb or you nailed your interviews. 260 for L3 is too high.

Cloudera tell me OP Feb 5, 2019

I think I did well in all the interviews. But does that matter too in the comp?

Google fblowball Feb 5, 2019

It won't. But it can decide how badly Google wants you. If you nailed it, then G would be desperate to match else they would let it go.

Google doesn't always pay top dollar. In fact this new financial penny pinching lady from Wall Street is talking about cutting software engineer salaries.

Can you give more details about this?
