How much TC should expect in London? I'm joining at L3.

Also, I'd appreciate any tips and tricks to survive in London.

£56-£60 base pay in London is fairly decent. You’ll end up with about £3500-£3700 after taxes and deductions. London is a great city, always plenty to do and Europe is at your doorstep. However, it is expensive. £3500 is decent for London. DM me if you have any particular questions about London, I can help you out (lived and worked in both India and London so I’m guessing it’ll help you)!

No, compare to other countries like Singapore, fresh undergraduate can easily make 3k5 GBP with local companies, housing is cheaper too

Yeah, compared to a lot of cities it’s pretty low. Graduate salaries per year are like £27k. Meals at decent restaurants are the same, but I found Singapore super expensive in general. Drinking alcohol is way more expensive than London, groceries are the same price, some things are a bit more expensive in Singapore. Public transport is frightfully expensive in London. Rent is quite similar, but quality of life and the kind of place you get in Singapore is better. I’ve spent a lot of time in Singapore too, this is my personal opinion, but London is a better city to live and explore when you’re young and early in your career.

You can spend anywhere between £750 and £1200 on rent, depending on where you live. Public transport is great, so even if you’re a bit further out, it’s fine. Saving really depends on your lifestyle. If you go out a lot or shop loads, it could be difficult.

Are the trains packed during commute time and people stand the whole trip?

Yeah, you’re probably going to be under someone’s armpit. I prefer walking or cycling tbh.
